A gentle hot summer breeze, that brought thick muggy swamp mist, brought the scent of snake. Licking her lips, Cedarfur set out on her hunt. Her large paws were light as she gracefully made her way across the wet soggy floor of her swampy home. The sun was barely peaking above the ground and the night fog was still hanging around. It was a difficult hour to hunt, but to this she-cat it was the best time. It was a true challenge, other than the bogs, and Cedarfur loved it. Seeing the snake through a light branched shrub, the hunter fell into a crouch and slow made her way around the bush. Amber eyes locked on and waited to see if nature would be kind to her. Indeed it was, the wind came towards her, caring the scent of the snake and leaving her scent behind her. Slowly, with light graceful paws, the tortoiseshell she-cat drew closer and closer. Snakes were a challenge to catch, only the best hunters ever really went for them. Creeping behind the snake, Cedarfur came a few tail lengths away when she finally leaped. Using one claw she flipped the snake with her hook like claws and with the other stabbed them into it's flesh. The hooks digging into it's neck, pressing it down till the snake stopped struggling and finally fell limp with death.Letting out a confident smirk and purr, she reached down to pick it up, but stopped. To her side, she noticed a large thick trunk of a tree. Straightening her back, she turned her head up to the sky. Cedarfur stood beside The Great Pine. It was a honorable sight the tree, it stood tall showing time had helped it become strong. Turning to face the tree, the black and ginger cat placed a paw on the tree, lowered her head, and closed her eyes. In her head she spoke sweet words to her parents and her older brother who now hunted with Starclan. "I miss you all," Cedar said out loud. She was so lost in her thoughts and memories of the past she was unaware that someone was coming closer to her.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
