As usual Redstar found he was the first cat awake in Wildclan. Rather than wait around for the others to stir from their slumber and assemble into a proper patrol group, he decided he could handle the morning patrol by himself. After disturbing his deputy just long enough to tell them he was stepping out Redstar padded off into their grassy territory. Everything was going smooth as Redstar made his way deeper into the clan's territory. Soon he reached the Fallen Oak. A familiar yet out-of-place scent caused Redstar to stop. Instantly he recognized the scent of a kitty-pet and for a moment remembered with great joy and sadness his old life. He caught himself smiling as he moved closer to this kitty-pet.
It was not uncommon for Redstar to find a kitty-pet so close to the two-leg border. Sometimes the house cats got lost, or were chased into his territory by Darkclan cats. Yet as he drew closer Redstar realized something was not right. The kitty-pet, a she-cat he could now tell, lay collapsed on the ground. He could hear her heavy breathing and smell the stench of illness before he was even within tail-length of her.
"Hello? Don't worry I will not hurt you. Trust me, I can help you." He spoke softly, trying to reassure the kitty-pet, if you could even hear him. Cautiously he walked up beside her and leaned against her to help push her onto her feet. It was obvious she was weak but Redstar figured if he supported her weight at least she may be able to walk a bit. Once they made it to camp they would take care of her. Redstar just hoped he wasn't too late.
